One Country,One Nation,One World !

May 2016, Time: 10:30 am – 1.00 pm tentatively
How it is done:
- Each class from HIBS and SMS Saleha will be given a chance to draw lots and pick one country per class.
- The students need to work as a team and gather significant information based on the selected country.
- During the event students would need to collectively set up a booth and promote their country to the panel of judges and guests.
- Awards will be given based on three highest scoring teams.
The aim of this project is to create awareness
on the importance of English language in an international school by
incorporating eco friendly materials.
Furthermore, it caters the development of
language skills within HIBS and SMS Saleha community.
The Roles of Teachers
and Students
Teachers’ responsibilities
- Two teachers will be assigned to each class ( class teacher + 1)
- Class teachers are allowed to pick their partner to assist (If the class teacher is local, you are to pick a foreign teacher as your assistant and vice versa) and both teachers will be the class advisors in this event.
- These teachers will be called as their ‘Home Room’ teachers
- Home Room teachers will be responsible in providing necessary information related to the event from time to time.
- Upon discussion with students, Home Room will be the mediator to purchase or request the necessary items to be used during the event.
- Home Room are to conduct at least one meeting with their respective students before the start of March school holidays.
- Fund will be given to the Home Room teachers to be given to their students and all the receipt should be collected and recorded
Students’ responsibilities
- Students would need to set up a booth based on the selected country.
- Students would need to report their progress weekly to their Home Room Teachers ( two teachers will be assigned to one country)
- Students would need to utilise the given fund RM100 and find an alternative to cover their expenses.
- Students can set meetings with their respective Home Room Teachers
- Students would need to obey the rules and regulation of the event; any violation of the rules will end up with termination of participation in this event.
- How do we know our respective countries?
A
list of countries will be prepared by the teachers and a representative from
each class will pick their country by drawing lots. So pray hard and pick one.

Their dance or customs

Economical growth and etc
PS: Anything that does not violate HIBS and
SMSS’s code of ethics and rules.
3. Can
we claim for extra expenses?
You
will be given an allowance of RM100 by the school and any extra sponsorship or allowance from outside cannot be claimed under the school J
4. How do
we get the things/materials/items from outside?
Well,
why do you think you have two teachers assigned for each team?
5. How
are the marks allocated?
An
official marking rubric will be prepared and the marking criteria will be
briefed after the school commences.
Creativity,
good conduct of English and usage of eco friendly materials ‘might be useful’ *hint hint*
6. Who
are the judges?
You
will know that on the day of the event.
7. How
many winners are there?
Second runner up,
first runner up and winner.
8. What
are the prizes to be won?
It
will be announced right after the March school holidays. You will be very much happy J
